Compare-Vets.org is an independent UK directory and review platform for veterinary practices registered with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS). 2. Using the site
By using Compare-Vets.org you agree to these terms, our Acceptable Use Policy, our Review Rules & Moderation Policy, our Privacy Policy, and our Cookie Policy. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.
3. Reviewer terms
When you submit a review you confirm that:
- The review reflects your own genuine first-hand experience as a client of the specific practice.
- You have received no incentive (money, discount, voucher, refund, free treatment or other benefit) in exchange for the review.
- You have no undisclosed conflict of interest with the practice (you are not a competitor, employee, family member of staff, contractor or supplier).
- Statements of fact in your review are true, and statements of opinion are your honest opinion.
- You have not identified individual staff members, third parties or other clients by name.
- You are personally responsible for what you write and may be personally liable for unlawful content.
- You agree the review may be published on Compare-Vets indefinitely and we may log your IP address and the version of these terms at the moment of submission.
Submitting a fake or concealed incentivised review is prohibited under the UK Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 and the CMA's CMA208 Fake Reviews Guidance. It may also be a criminal offence and give rise to civil liability.
4. Practice terms
If you claim a practice listing you also agree to the Practice Right of Reply Policy. In particular, you must not solicit, incentivise, commission or facilitate fake or incentivised reviews, and you must not use the complaints route to suppress genuine criticism.
5. Content ownership and licence
You keep ownership of your review. You grant Compare-Vets a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual licence to host, display, moderate, redact, translate and syndicate your review as part of the platform. We may remove content at any time under our Review Rules.

7. No professional advice
Reviews are the personal opinions of their authors. Compare-Vets does not verify clinical accuracy and nothing on the site constitutes veterinary, medical, legal or financial advice. In an emergency contact a veterinary practice directly.
8. Liability
We provide the site "as is" and to the fullest extent permitted by law we exclude implied warranties. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded (including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud). We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
10. Changes
We may update these terms. The version in force when you submit a review or use the site is the version that applies.
